Gardai and the Civil Defence searching for a missing Finglas woman are being helped by over fifty locals.

44 year old Karen Scott, who has Down Syndrome, has been missing from her home since last Friday.

She was last spotted on Berkeley Road in Phibsboro on Friday evening. There's an appeal to businesses in the Berkeley Road / Blessington Street area to check their CCTV for any sighting of Karen.

She disappeared from her home on Barnamore Road at around 3:30PM on Friday afternoon June 24th.

Inspector Burke outlined at Finglas Garda Station said "When last seen Karen had a suitcase which contained clothing so it is possible that Karen is not wearing the same clothes when last seen. The clothes included bright coloured tops, yellow, green, blues, shorts and a mini skirt”.

"We are working closely with Karen’s family to try and locate her. We would appeal to anybody who has any information, however small, to contact us", he added.

On 98FM's Dublin Talks today, a family friend and neighbour, made an emotional appeal on behalf of Karen's family.
