Paul Mannion plans to leave his Dublin friendships in the Croke Park dressing rooms when he lines out for Kilmacud Crokes against St. Judes on Wednesday evening.
The teams meet in the quarter finals of the Dublin Senior Football Championships at Parnell Park just a couple of weeks after Dublin’s replay win over Mayo.
Throw in is at 8.15pm.
With a number of Dublin’s All Ireland winners spread around the different clubs in the county, Mannion has met and will meet some of his close friends on the pitch as opponents not team-mates in the coming weeks.
It’s not a new experience for Mannion or his Dublin team-mates, but he admits it’s still a little strange.
The Dublin and Crokes’ forward expects a “tough battle” against a Judes team that hammered last season’s beaten semi-finalists Clontarf, 1-15 to 1-3 in the previous round.
