This morning on Dublin Talks we asked if marriage is pointless following a report released today saying that couples who simply live together are happier than couples who get married.
A woman rang in to tell us she believes that marriage is pointless and said that she will never get married. A man then called the show to say that "couples who aren't married aren't committed " and also went on to say that he believes that if someone marries for the second time it is not a real marriage and that kids who are born to married parents are more intelligent and will do better in life than kids who are not.
When Adrian told this particular caller that he has recently gotten engaged the caller told Adrian that he is in an "adulterous" relationship and is "a sinner". Another young man called in to agree with him and said "marriage is the most important thing you will ever do".
Many of you called and texted in to say that these men "are in the dark ages" and are "bible bashers". They wanted to set them straight. One woman who has 4 kids, is with her partner 14 years and is not married (and has no intention of getting married) got particular annoyed by their comments. Hear what happened here >>>>>>>>>>
