Comerford Planning To Set Irish Record At Alpine Skiing World Championships

Dubliner Cormac Comerford is getting ready to ski for Ireland at the World Championships in Switzerland this week.

Cormac will be racing in the slalom and giant slalom events and hits speeds of up to 160KM/H.

He’ll compete is a qualifying race on Thursday, with the top 25 getting into the main race.

A team of four men and two women are representing Ireland in the competition in St. Moritz in the Swiss alps.

The World Championships bring together the best alpine ski racers from all over the world.

The 20 year old, who is a sports scholarship student in DIT, joined Jamie Moore on Now That’s What I Call Sport on Sunday morning.

Comerford also has dreams of becoming Ireland’s next winter Olympian in 2018.
