Bohemians 0-0 Bray Wanderers
Jamie Moore at Dalymount Park
Bohemians will rue missed chances as the reason they are not inside the Premier Division top six tonight.
It’s finished Bohs 0-0 Bray but it should it have been a different story for the home team.
Izzy Akinade was their main man, he had scored four goals in his previous five games, but missed three brilliant chances to win it for his team.
Bray goalkeeper Peter Cherrie was the man of the match, pulling off top saves from an Akinade header in the first half and a low shot late in the second.
Kurtis Byrne’s corner found Akinade but his darting header was expertly tipped around the post by the Bray keeper.
Keith Buckley and Paddy Kavanagh also had efforts saved.
The Scottish keeper also stopped sub Ayman Ben Mohamed’s shot as his goal continued to live a charmed life.
Bohs won EIGHT corners in the 20 minutes of the game, but failed to make any of them count.
Set piece expert Lorcan Fitzgerald was on the bench.
Eoin Wearen also curled a shot over the bar.
Bray had won just one of their last ten games, and you could see why, they remain in real relegation trouble, if Bohs can get Akinade firing again, Keith Long’s team will continue to climb the table.
They’ll now pick themselves up for Saturday’s friendly against Portsmouth.
