Johnny Sexton, Cian Healy and Keith Earls will all sit out next month's games against the USA and Japan, with 11 uncapped players in Andy Farrell's 37 man Ireland squad.
Farrell has named his squad for the July test matches, which will be captained by James Ryan.
Munster's Gavin Coombes and Fineen Wycherley, and Leinster's Harry Byrne, Ross Molony and Peter Dooley are all set to win their first caps this summer, as could Connacht trio Paul Boyle, Caolin Blade and Tom Daly. However, there's no place in the squad for their Connacht teammate Gavin Thornbury, who had been in contention for a call-up after an excellent season in the second row.
Ulster's Robert Baloucoune, Tom O’Toole, Nick Timoney complete the list of uncapped players.
As well as the rookies, Andy Farrell welcomes back a number of players from long-term absences; Joey Carbery is in an Ireland squad for the first time since the 2019 World Cup, while Will Addison also comes back, after making his return from a lengthy injury during the Rainbow Cup.
Ireland host Japan on Saturday July 3rd, before welcoming the USA to the Aviva Stadium a week later.
