Have you ever wondered what it’s like to compete in elite sport, for example, in a wheelchair?

Now That’s What I Call Sport presenter Jamie Moore had the opportunity to do just that, minus the elite bit, earlier this week.

He spent the day with some of the athletes who will represent Ireland at the Paralympic Games in Rio later this year.

It all took place at Morton Stadium in Santry.

He cycled a tandem BLINDFOLDED, raced a hand-bike and a wheelchair, played soccer and attempted to throw a discus.

Chef de Mission Denis Toomey also gave an update on how preparations are going.

Ireland are due to send around 45 athletes in 10 sports and the squads will be finalised in July.

Jamie started by taking on Rena McCarron Rooney at wheelchair table tennis and his pre match confidence was soon brought back down to earth.
