The 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy is one of the most successful book franchises of all time having sold over 100 million copies worldwide since 2011.
As soon as women started forgoing Saturday nights out in the hope of hooking up to stay in to read a book, you just knew that a film wouldn't be far away.
It is set to be released on Valentine's Day 2015 to fully exploit the stereotype of sad women sitting around drinking wine while thinking about getting a cat.
Today the trailer has been released.
So, what can we tell from this? Director Sam Taylor Johnson has made one good looking film. It is scored by an even sexier version of 'Crazy in Love' by Beyoncé - very nice touch.
I have always been obsessed with kisses in films - Bridget's kiss with Mark Darcy was SO disappointing, Daniel Craig should have to kiss Eva Green forever in my book as it was so well done in 'Casino Royal' and Buffy and Angel never disappointed but I think we have a new winner.
Holy hell if Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey doesn't shift the hell out of Dakota Johnson's Anastasia in an elevator.
Anastasia doesn't seem as submissive in this trailer as she does in the book so hopefully Taylor-Johnson will give us a character we don't want to tampons at.
Occasionally, Jamie Dornan's northern accent sneaks in but that happens with Michael Fassbender all the time and does him no harm.
And yes, you get to see the infamous 'Red Room'....
I am not a fan of the books but, damn if this trailer doesn't make me want to go and see this movie.
