You will probably have noticed a bunch of people in school uniforms today. I thought that there was some weird fancy dress going on because, how can the schools be back, it's still summer..... nope. Those three months seem to have passed me by.

I wouldn't go back to my teenage days for Michael Fassbender showing up at my door with cheese, tea and Idris Elba but there are a few things I miss about going back to school.

1.) The stationery.

Look at all the colours. These days your stationery is post it notes reminding you that you have 53 things to do before your day is finished, reminders and pens that look as though they are dead inside.

2.) Getting to cover your books with posters, wrapping paper, stickers. It's just not the done thing in the office.

3.) Writing on your bag.

For some reason, writing on bags is something you leave behind once you've done the leaving. I personally think laptop and hand bags would look a million times better with writing. MUIREANN WOZ ERE.

4.) Getting to hear cracking voices.

For those poor fellas whose voices didn't break during the summer months, it can be a gruelling time when they go back to school. At the same time, you kinda always hope that they'll be asked to read in class. Mean.

5.) Your day being done at 3 o'clock.

We really didn't appreciate this when we were younger. 3 o'clock and you're FREEEEEEEEE. I'll just sit here at my desk until midnight, it's grand.
