There's good news for residents on the northside.
A landbanks site in Castlelands in Balbriggan is set to be used for housing.
Fingal County Council says another location in Hackettstown in Skerries will also be developed.
The land which is under state ownership aims to increase housing output across Fingal.
The council says they will provide high quality and attractive residential developments.
Director of Planning and Strategic Infrastructure AnnMarie Farrelly says the Development Plan requires a masterplan of lands at Castlelands in advance of any building.
She says "we are moving towards publishing that masterplan in February and this will facilitate 800 to 1,000 units on the site."
