Zig and Zag are returning to RTÉjr for an animation series. According to RTÉ, the series follows “alien tween brothers Zig and Zag who crash land in humdrum suburbia and set up home”.
Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson and bassist Simon Rix have recorded the theme tune for the cartoon.
Speaking at the launch of the RTÉjr show, Zag said:
“OMZ! This is like the coolest thing ever, having our own animation series on TV! It’s the greatest thing since mackerel and banana smoothies!”

The first five episodes will be available to watch on the RTÉjr App from 10am on Thuesday, March 1st. The show will also be shown weekdays at 5.45pm on the RTÉjr television channel.
