RTE has announced when the Young Offenders television series will air. The six-part series which is described as a 'prequel' to the 2016 hit comedy film, will premiere on February 8th.
The show will see the return of best friends Conor and Jock, played by Alex Murphy and Chris Walley.
Speaking previously to RTÉ Entertainment, the writer/director of the film and series, Peter Foott, said:
"It starts at the same point as the movie and we tell a different story," he explained. "It's almost like a prequel.
"The way that the stories are told they're all interwoven through the six episodes so it's kind of like one journey."
The film is inspired by Ireland’s biggest cocaine seizure of €440 million off the coast of Cork in 2007 and tells the story of two teenagers, who embark on a road trip in the hope of finding a missing bale of cocaine.
