The Young Offenders is to be turned into a six part TV series.
Last year's cult comedy tells the fictional story of two schoolboys from Cork who go mitching from a school to find cocaine which washed up on a beach in West Cork in 2007 (that part is true!).
The movie also stars PJ Gallagher as a Dublin drug dealer who pursues the lads with a nail gun.
Now the show has been commissioned by the BBC in association with RTE.
The episodes will continue the characters' misadventures. They'll be played by the same actors, Chris Walley and Alex Murphy.
Peter Foott won Best Screenplay for The Young Offenders at the IFTAs. He says it's incredibly exciting news:
"The public response to the film, and specifically the characters themselves, was just so overwhelming that we really felt there were a lot more stories to tell, so we're very excited to be doing this as a six part television series. It's a real honour to have a chance to take these characters on their new adventures and we can't wait to start filming in Cork."
