Leanne Amaning

What makes you the perfect Love Islander?

I’m fun and want to find love but I’m not that open, so I think I’m actually going into Love Island to learn and change.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Unpredictable, fun and charismatic.

How would you rate your looks on a scale of 1 to 10 and what would you say is your best feature?

My best feature is my eyes. I’d say I was a 10. If you don’t love yourself, who will?

What is your worst habit?

I tell a few white lies. Sometimes I can be lazy, which is quite a bad habit too.

Describe your ideal man

Someone who is rugged and manly, not anyone with a pretty face. I also want someone loyal and trustworthy. The list does go on...

Who is your celebrity crush?

Gerard Butler.

What song sums up your love life?

Beyoncé Single Ladies.

How do you tend to meet dates?

Usually through friends of friends.

What’s been your most disastrous date/dating experience?

A guy once started rapping acapella to me. I was sat there awkwardly and had to clap afterwards.

Describe the ideal first date?

Nothing too fancy, drinks and bowling or golf.

What’s the best or worst chat up line that someone has used on you, or you have used yourself?

The worst said to me was, ‘What’s your name? I thought it was Angel from heaven.’

What’s an immediate turn off for you in a guy?

Someone sensitive, boring or rude. I’m good with banter but if someone is too rude, I don’t like it.

How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the guy you want?

If I want something, I’ll get it.

Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye?

We’ll have to see. Depends how much I like someone. If I don’t like you that much then I’m not loyal.

What’s your definition of the girl code?

If you’re friends then you don’t cross any boundaries. If you’re not close friends with someone there’s no such thing as girl code.

Have you got any New Year’s resolutions?

Stop eating so much chocolate.

What makes you the perfect Love Islander?

I’m sassy and fun. I’ve experienced quite a lot with men, so I know what I’m looking for.

My friends call me Princess Jasmine And the Eyebrow Queen. I’m also sassy.

How would you rate your looks on a scale of 1 to 10 and what would you say is your best feature?

I couldn’t rate myself but I’d say my eyebrows are my best feature, everyone always comments on them.

What is your worst habit?

I struggle to get up in the morning as I love to sleep in.

Tall dark and handsome – I’m after my own Aladdin, I guess.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Anthony Joshua, he’s a bit of me. And 90s Leonardo DiCaprio.

What song sums up your love life?

Survivor by Destiny’s Child

How do you tend to meet dates?

I’ve never been on a dating app, I meet people through Instagram when they message. Or I tend to meet people in real life.

What’s been your most disastrous date/dating experience?

I went on a date once where I wanted to go home as soon as I got there. He didn’t look like his pictures on Instagram at all!

Describe the ideal first date?

I’m very easily pleased – I’m happy to get a pizza and watch a Disney film.

What’s an immediate turn off for you in a guy?

Arrogance, or someone who is full of themselves.

How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the guy you want?

If I see something I want, I’m not afraid to go for it. That’s what I’m going into the villa to do. I’m up for a challenge!

Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye?

Depends if I like the person. If anyone has a wandering eye, they can’t like that person that much.

What’s your definition of the girl code?

Any girl that’s your friend and you know they’ve been with someone, you don’t go there.

Have you got any New Year’s resolutions?

Put myself first and do things for me... I want to chase my dreams in 2020.

Eve and Jess Gale

  • 20 from London
  • Students & VIP Hostesses

What makes you the perfect Love Islander?

Jess: I’d be a good Islander because I’m fun, confident and spontaneous.

Eve: I would say I’m confident, chilled out and easygoing which would make me a good Islander.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Jess: I’m kind, fun and spontaneous.

Eve: I’m obviously fun too! And I’d like to think I’m confident and friendly.

How would you rate your looks on a scale of 1 to 10 and what would you say is your best feature?

Jess: I’d say I was a 7.5 and my best feature is my hair.

Eve: I’m a 7 and my best feature is my hair.

What is your worst habit?

Jess: Being late - it’s such a problem.

Eve: Sleeping in and missing my alarm.

Describe your ideal man.

Jess: Someone who is confident, not cocky. Selfassured, kind and respectful and on the same
intelligence level as me.

Eve: I want someone who is fun and confident, not shy. Quite ‘alpha male’. And I’d like a guy who is switched on.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Jess: Anthony Joshua - he’s so good looking in real life.

Eve: Same!

You’re twins – do you ever fight over boys?

Jess: We’ve got so much respect for each other we’re not going to argue over a boy!

Eve: Boys often say, ‘Right, I fancy you both - which one of you wants me?’ Some boys will be messaging me and Jessica at the same time, I don’t think they think we talk.

What song sums up your love life?

Jess: Thank you, next by Ariana Grande.

Eve: Best Thing I Never Had by Beyoncé.

How do you tend to meet dates?

Jess: Normally when I’m out and about at events or work.

Eve: I’m the same – an event or work. I could never meet someone online.

What’s been your most disastrous date/dating
experience?

Jess: I was seeing someone and it was going really well. Then I saw him on Instagram in photos with a girl. The
caption said ‘A rare one, I love you’. They’d been to Dubai together and were proper tight. The dates with me meant he’d been cheating the whole time.

Describe the ideal first date?

Jess: Something casual but nice. I’d hate to go on a romantic dinner. Drinks in a nice bar would be cool.

Eve: Drinks in a rooftop bar.

What’s the best or worst chat up line that someone has used on you, or you have used yourself?

Jess: I’ve never used a chat up line, but so many have been said to us. Mainly twin-related.

What’s an immediate turn off for you in a guy?

Jess: If a guy comes across as insecure, it’s a massive
turn off.

Eve: If they’re a f**k boy, disrespectful and talking to everyone when they’re out.

How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the guy you want?

Jess: If it’s meant to happen it will happen naturally. If I’m forcing it, it probably shouldn’t be happening in the first place.

Eve: I don’t chase, I like being chased. If a guy doesn’t want me then I don’t want him.

Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye?

Jess: When it comes down to it and things get serious, 100% I’ll be loyal, but until that time I think it’s okay to have a wandering eye.

Eve: If it’s serious I’ll be loyal. But if something is still progressing, I don’t want to miss out on something that could potentially happen with someone else who could be better for me.

What’s your definition of the girl code?

Jess: For every single girl, whether you know them or not, be kind, considerate and understanding. For your closest friends it’s stepped up. And with Eve it’s stepped up even more by 1000%. If there’s a guy that’s upset Eve, he is cancelled in my books.

Eve: With Jess, I have the ultimate girl code. If someone upset her I’d never speak to them again. In the villa, I won’t be snake-y towards a girl, but if I like a guy I would say.

Pop Smoke, the R ‘n’ B rapper, messaged me too.

Have you got any New Year’s resolutions?

Jessica: Keep being nice and treat people how I want to be treated. I believe in Karma. I’d also like to be a vegetarian.

Eve: I want to become a veggie.

What makes you the perfect Love Islander?

I’m chatty, funny and clever – people won’t expect it from me. When they hear me speak about certain things they’ll be shocked. I like to get on with everyone, too.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Funny, easy-going but a little bit bossy.

How would you rate your looks on a scale of 1 to 10 and what would you say is your best feature?

When I’m dressed up probably a solid 7.5. I’d say my best feature would probably be my lips. I spent enough money on them!

What is your worst habit?

Thinking I’m always right… or should I say, knowing I’m always right. Also I never know when to shut up, there are some battles you won’t win, but I’m still going to try.

Describe your ideal man.

Funny, a little bit smart, not smarter than me as I’d get really annoyed. I want someone I can watch the news with and have a conversation about it.

I also want someone that gets along with their parents and who dresses nice and looks nice although looks aren’t everything.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Jack Fincham is a bit of me on toast!

What song sums up your love life?

Young Hearts Run Free by Candi Staton. I’m definitely up for having fun when it comes to love.

How do you tend to meet dates?

The last two boys I’ve met have been through friends. They saw me on my friend’s Instagram and asked to be set up. I’ve not been on any dating apps. I think there’s less pressure when you meet someone out and you just get chatting.

What’s been your most disastrous date/dating experience?

Being on a first date with a guy and getting a cab home to mine and my most recent exboyfriend was sat outside my house in his car crying. I was furious. The date didn’t know how to react and just pretended to be on the phone. I ended up being with him for a year and a half after that.

Describe the ideal first date?

Something chilled. I wouldn’t mind going for something to eat. I wouldn’t want to go to the cinema - why take me on a date and then not talk or get to know me?!

What’s the best or worst chat up line that someone has used on you, or you have used yourself?

A post shared by Shaughna Phillips (@shaughnaphillips) on

I got a message that said, ‘If you were on a McDonalds menu, you’d be a McGorgeous.’

What’s an immediate turn off for you in a guy?

Someone who loves themselves. Someone that’s not listening to you – I just think go and annoy someone else.

How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the guy you want?

If I actually liked someone, had a genuine connection and a girl comes in and would like to talk to them, I’d definitely mark my territory - in a cool, calm way.

Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye?

My last boyfriend I was with cheated on me. I always used to think if I got cheated on it’d be door shut, go away. It's not like that, cheating messes you up. I could never do that to anyone. I wouldn’t like to be with someone who had cheated in their past.

What’s your definition of the girl code?

Don’t go near your friend’s man and don’t go near a man who has got a girlfriend at all.

Have you got any New Year’s resolutions?

Stop being friendly to f**k boys.

Sophie Piper

What makes you the perfect Love Islander?

I’m very friendly, I’m looking to find someone which is the main thing. I’m very open to the experience and I’m excited to get in the villa now!

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Kind, fun and energetic… when I get 8 hours of sleep.

How would you rate your looks on a scale of 1 to 10 and what would you say is your best feature?

I’d give myself a 7 or an 8 and I like my dimples.

What is your worst habit?

Sleeping. If I could have a nap now I would. I literally would sleep anywhere.

Describe your ideal man.

Kind with something about them, someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously. I like confident but not cocky. Tall, tanned and light eyes.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Anthony Joshua. Whenever I see him fight, I yell, ‘Come on, use your right hook!’ I have no idea what I’m talking about.

What song sums up your love life?

All By Myself by Celine Dion - that’s how it feels at the moment!

How do you tend to meet dates?

I prefer to meet someone on a night out, rather than someone who I don’t know who messages me.

What’s been your most disastrous date/dating experience?

I went for dinner on a date and we had camembert to start. The date went well and I gave him a peck goodbye when I left. I got home and went in to take my make-up off and realised I had a bit of cheese hanging down from the corner of my mouth.

I don’t know how I didn’t feel it and he hadn’t said anything to me! When I asked him about it he said he hadn’t wanted to embarrass me but I’d rather have known. I’m hoping my dates are a bit less cheesy in the Villa...

Describe the ideal first date?

I like going out for a nice dinner and drinks so something like Italian or Japanese.

What’s the best or worst chat up line that someone has used on you, or you have used yourself?

Someone commented on a picture of me once saying, ‘Too much sugar is bad for me’. I think he meant I was very sweet? It made no sense!

What’s an immediate turn off for you in a guy?

When someone’s cringey. I love banter but hate it when someone tries to be funny and they’re not.

How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the guy you want?

I wouldn’t be sneaky about anything, I’d be open about it. Try and do it in the right way.

Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye?

It takes me a while to like someone, but when I do like someone I really like them. So if I met someone and I was still like, oh he’s nice but not 100%, you’d probably be able to see that.

If someone did come in and I preferred him I’d have to make it clear.

What’s your definition of the girl code?

Being friends with someone and not going after their man, I would never do anything to my close friends. Obviously I know it’s different because in the villa, you could know people for a handful of days and everyone expects you to do girl code. I just think it’s about going about things the right way and being friendly.

What’s your claim to fame?

My sister is Rochelle Humes.

Have you got any New Year’s resolutions?

Trying new experiences.

Fun Fact / Party Trick?

I can balance a Malteser in my cheek dimples.

Paige Turley

  • 22 from West Lothian
  • Singer

What makes you the perfect Love Islander?

I’m naturally flirty, I think it’s nice to flirt, it feels good. I’m from a small village where everyone knows each other or has been an ex of someone. I want to find someone who is different, and outside the small village mentality.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Loud. Boisterous. Fun.

How would you rate your looks on a scale of 1 to 10 and what would you say is your best feature?

An 8 if I’m feeling good. Eyes are my best feature.

What is your worst habit?

I’m on my phone constantly, mainly on social media. I feel like I’m not in the room as much as I should be. I think that’s what I’m going to struggle with the most in the villa, not having my phone.

Describe your ideal man.

It’s so cliché, but tall, dark and handsome. He’s got to be quite witty with a bit of banter and something about him. I like a guy with a strong personality, he knows who he is and what he wants.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Tom Hardy.

What song sums up your love life?

Highway to Hell by AC/DC - my dates don’t know what they’re letting themselves in for!

How do you tend to meet dates?

When I’m out or through social media. You play the liking ping pong - they’ll like me, then I’ll like their pictures for a while...

What’s been your most disastrous date/dating experience?

Last year I went on a date and got drunk pretty quickly. I woke up the next day with vomit in my hair and I was in my ex boyfriend’s bed. I’d vomited all over his bed while he had slept on the couch. I had all these texts and FaceTimes
and missed calls from the guy I’d been on the date with who I must have just left. I woke up and my ex said, ‘I hope you have a hangover!’

Describe the ideal first date?

I like music, I like cocktails. Something quite relaxed. In the sun would be ideal.

What’s the best or worst chat up line that someone has used on you, or you have used yourself?

If someone said a cheesy chat up line, I’d probably slate them to the hills!

What’s an immediate turn off for you in a guy?

Arrogance. I like someone who is confident but if they’re too much and it’s borderline cocky, I’m not interested.

How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the guy you want?

I do want to go in and make friends but we are all there to find love. I’m going to express how I feel.

Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye?

If it’s the right guy and I like them enough, I’ll be loyal. If the wandering eye comes that’s a sign it’s not right.

What’s your definition of the girl code?

You don’t go near each other’s men or exes. You have each other’s back, you are there for
them in good times and bad times.

What’s your claim to fame?

Lewis Capaldi is my ex boyfriend. We went out when we were younger, I was about 17 or 18. We were together for about a year. It ended really amicably and we’re still pals.

Have you got any New Year’s resolutions?

I’m strong-minded so I need to ease up a bit and use it in the right way.

Fun Fact:

When I was 14 I was on Britain’s Got Talent as a solo singer and I got to the semifinals. I sang Skinny Love by Birdy

Mike Boateng

What makes you the perfect Love Islander?

My charm and my character. I’m a very personable person so I’m easy to approach and I’m hoping that’ll make it easy for me to speak to a girl and connect with her.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Confident, charming and charismatic.

How would you rate your looks on a scale of 1 to 10 and what would you say is your best feature?

I’m a solid 8 and I have piercing eyes that look into your soul.

What is your worst habit?

Playing with my beard. My mum hates it but I can’t stop doing it. Especially when I’m thinking.

Describe your ideal woman.

Ambitious, a lot of personality and of course beautiful.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Beyoncé and Rihanna.

How do you tend to meet dates?

I like to take action if I see someone who I like. I’m not afraid to approach them and say ‘Hey.’

What’s been your most disastrous date/dating experience?

A date arrived and she didn’t look like her pictures. She worked in an old people’s home and someone had thrown up on her shoulder at work, so she had that sick smell on her. I gave her a chance and then left after three minutes.

Describe the ideal first date?

A nice dinner and good conversation. I’m quite old-school, I like to go for walks too where we can talk and get to know each other.

What’s the best or worst chat up line that someone has used on you, or you have used yourself? I’m lucky because of my job as a Police Officer I can use the cheeky lines about getting handcuffs out! It normally works.

What’s an immediate turn off for you in a girl?

I can’t stand stinky breath.

How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the girl you want?

I’m going in to the villa to find love. If that means stepping on a few toes, burning a few bridges and finding the love of my life, I’m willing to do it.

Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye?

I can have a bit of a wandering eye, but I’m not going to wander for the sake of it. I’ve always had pretty long term relationships.

What’s the best or worst chat up line that someone has used on you, or you have used yourself?

If I think you’re pretty, I’ll tell you you’re pretty. Or I’ll comment on your outfit, rather than a generic chat up line.

What’s an immediate turn off for you in a girl?

Being overly boisterous or not carrying themselves well.

How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the girl you want?

I will always put all my cards on the table and then it’s for the girl to decide.

Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye?

In a relationship, I’m loyal. Dating is different. You’re not really completely attached to someone...

What’s your definition of the bro code?

I’m a very open and honest person so would always explain to a guy that it’s not me versus them, it’s always up to the girl to decide who she prefers.

Have you got any New Year’s resolutions?

Keep the same positivity.

I’m an alpha male. Wherever I go, I boss the room, I boss whatever I’m doing. I’ll be the butt of all jokes but I’ll also be the one to make all of the jokes. I'm attention seeking and I like to be the centre of what is going on at the time. I
wear my emotions on my sleeve, I’m upfront and let people know what I think of them too.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

I am fun, energetic and traditional.

How would you rate your looks on a scale of 1 to 10 and what would you say is your best feature?

I’m probably a 10. I think my best feature is my body, closely followed by my wit.

What is your worst habit?

My worst habit is that I’m a perfectionist. If something needs to be done, it has to be done my way, the right way.

Describe your ideal woman.

My ideal woman is blonde, athletic and funny.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Lily James is my celebrity crush. She’s pretty gorgeous.

What song sums up your love life?

Dry Your Eyes by The Streets.

How do you tend to meet dates?

I am traditional so I much prefer to meet dates in real life. I won’t normally be the person to slide into someone's DMs, I’d let it happen organically. Girls do slide into my DMs, it depends what they look like. You’re not going
to pick up a book unless you like the cover are you?

What’s been your most disastrous date/dating experience?

The only Tinder date I ever went on was awful. I matched with this girl, she was a 10 out of 10.
I arrived at the location we had agreed to meet and messaged her to let her know I was there.

A 50-year-old bloke gets up from the bus stop and walks over to the driver’s door of my car. He said, ‘Is it Ollie? My name is Christina, I know I’m not what you were expecting but do you still fancy going for that drink?’ I reported it to Tinder!

Describe the ideal first date?

My ideal first date would be a restaurant in Cornwall on the coast where you can overlook the sunset and have a 12 course taster menu with wines. That’s always a great first date. It could be awkward with 12 courses to go if you
didn’t like each other… But it’s a beautiful date.

What’s the best or worst chat up line that someone has used on you, or you have used yourself?

Best chat up line I’ve ever used is, ‘Do you know Polzeath beach in Cornwall? I own it.’ That’s it. Chat up line, done.

What’s an immediate turn off for you in a girl?

Bad breath, it’s the worst. Also if a girl has got her phone out in the middle of a date, it’s probably a sign it’s not going very well.

How far are you prepared to go in the villa to get the girl you want?

I’m fine with competition and the idea of treading on toes. But if I’m really close to one of the blokes, I won’t screw him over to get his girl.

Will you be loyal or do you have a wandering eye?

I have had a wandering eye in the past but I haven’t since I made that mistake. Love Island is a very different atmosphere though, it’s full of temptation…

What’s your definition of the bro code?

Bro Code is putting your mates before a girl and prioritising your pal.

What’s your claim to fame?

My father is Lord of the Manor of Lanhydrock. The family title is Viscount Clifden. When my father passes away or abdicates, as the eldest child, I will take on the titles and the estate. I’m the heir of Lanhydrock.

Have you got any New Year’s resolutions?

To win Love Island.

Party Trick:

My party trick is the fact that I throw a bloody awesome party! Think Gatsby but with better fireworks.

So whose heads will be turned? Who will be dumped from the Island? And who will couple up and be in
with a chance of winning a share of the £50k prize money?
