The first trailer for True Detective season 3 has been released.
The new series stars Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali as Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Arkansas who is tasked with investigating the disappearance of two children in the '80s.
Justice League's Ray Fisher will play Hays' son, Freddy Burns, while This Is Us' Lonnie Chavis will play the younger version of the same character.
The series also stars 13 Reasons Why's Brandon Flynn, Alien: Covenant's Carmen Ejogo as well as Scoot McNairy, Mamie Gummer, Michael Graziadei, Stephen Dorff and Jodi Balfour.
True Detective returns January 2019 on HBO.
