Striking Out, the hit legal drama based in Dublin, has been given the go-ahead for a second series.

The show starring Amy Huberman and former Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey was a ratings success back in January when the four-part series aired. It averaged at almost 600,000 viewers per episode.

The main character, played by Amy, catches her fiancé (who she also works with at his family law firm) cheating in the first episode. She leaves him and the firm, hence the title 'Striking Out'. Pun!

Dublin never looked so good, with the show's seriously slick camera work and property porn.

Now it's set for a slightly longer run, with six episodes and new characters.

Maria Doyle Kennedy of The Commitments and Redwater and Lorraine Pilkington from Outnumbered are amongst the Dubliners who will be joining the cast.

The show is produced by Yvonne Donohoe and Katie Holly at Blinder Films for RTE.
