Peaky Blinders Season 5 is coming to our screens very soon. The show started shooting a fifth season back in September 2018, and finished in January this year.

Who's Starring?

We will of course see Cillian Murphy back as Tommy Shelby.  Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson), Ada Throne (Sophie Rundle), Michael Gray (Finn Cole) and Polly Gray (Helen McCrory) are all returning as well.

However, one cast member who will not be returning is Tom Hardy.

The Hollywood star played Alfie Solomons. He had a shock exit from the show last season after Tommy (Murphy) shot him dead. Paul Anderson spoke for the cast on Hardy's departure.

"We were unsure, it was up for debate and discussion, I know that Tom didn’t want to go.”

Two new additions to the cast are Hunger Games star Sam Claflin and ex-Hollyoaks actor Emmet J Scanlan.

What's The Plot?

Series 4 ended with Tommy being elected as an MP for Birmingham South. This saw the Shelby family  gain more power than ever before. However, Paul Anderson has been quick to assure fans that the Shelby's will only be using this power to further expand their operations.

Peaky Blinders Season 5 will more than likely also touch on Tommy's worsening mental state. Last season briefly explored this, and has raised questions about Tommy's conscience, like is he  actually developing one? He is likely still suffering from the trauma of what he witnessed in World War 1.

Are We Getting  A Movie?

Peaky Blinders has seen massive success over in the states, after the show was added to the US Netflix. The creator of the show, Steven Knight has revealed he is in meetings about a potential spin off movie for the series.

Cillian Murphy has revealed he would love to bring Tommy to the big screen and has indicated that Knight might have some ideas.
