It's official we have a new Oscars host. Jimmy Kimmel will front the show on February 17th in LA. Jimmy confirmed the news by tweeting: ''Yes, I am hosting the Oscars. This is not a prank. And if it is, my revenge on @TheAcademy will be terrible & sweet.''
Previously Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres and Neil Patrick Harris have fronted the show.
Jimmy is latest chat show host to be signed up for a major awards show. Jimmy Fallon will host the Golden Globes next year, while James Corden will take the reigns at The Grammys.
