But if you were hoping to get some of it on your screen this year, prepare to be disappointed!

ITV have decided to cut The Masked Dancer from their 2023 scheduling, in favour of broadcasting The Rugby World Cup instead.

So while Joel Dommett will not be returning to host the guessing-game show this year, it has not been cancelled for good.

The show is being rested to make way for the rugby this summer, but there's every chance it could return for 2024!

Publications have been reporting that the series has been axed as its ratings don't compare to its sister show -  The Masked Singer. But ITV have confirmed that it hasn't left their schedule completely and we can expect to even see themed specials later this year in lieu of the general series.

As with show it spun off from, The Masked Dancer sees a number of mysterious celebrities wear elaborate costumes that completely hide their real identity while they take to the stage to perform.

The first season of The Masked Dancer was won by gymnast Louis Smith, who beat Bonnie Langford and Take That's Howard Donald in the final. In season 2,  Glee star Heather Morris took the victory ahead of Australian actor Adam Garcia and former Strictly Come Dacning Judge, Bruno Tonioli.
