Matt Edmonson has been announced at the new host of 'The Xtra Factor'. The BBC Radio 1 DJ replaces Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom, who are departing after just one season of presenting duties.
The X Factor spin-off show will be live from the start of the series this year, as well as the usual mix of unseen auditions and backstage gossip.
Speaking about joining the show, Matt joked, “I am unbelievably excited about joining ‘The Xtra Factor’ this year, not least of all because on my first day Louis Walsh walked into my dressing room topless, unannounced. I regard this as the definition of ‘living the dream’”.
Matt previously hosted the online spin-off show ‘The F Factor’ back in 2010.
Host Dermot O’Leary kicks off the new series of The X Factor on ITV later this year. Earlier this month, the show confirmed that Louis Walsh, his pal Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger will join Simon Cowell on the judging panel.
