Martin is returning to the Cobbles!
Earlier this year, Helen Worth aka Gail Platt announced that she’d be leaving Coronation Street after an incredible 50 years on the show.
And the TV bosses are pulling out all the stops for her grand exit!
It’s being said that Martin Platt is returning to rekindle his romance with Gail in the hopes of whisking her off her feet and sailing off into the sunset.
Gail Platt has been married 5 times, and herself and Martin’s 10-year union ended when he went off and had an affair with nurse Rebecca.
In real life however actor Sean Wilson quit the show and became a cheesemonger!

A source told The Sun: “A number of options were considered for Gail’s departure from The Cobbles, but bosses knew the moment truly needed to be one of celebration for Corrie’s most iconic character”
“It just didn’t sit right to kill her off or have Gail suffer any more tragedy after, let’s face it, a very traumatic life.”
“Martin was always considered to be ‘the one that got away’ and bosses are thrilled they’ve tempted Sean back to wave Gail goodbye.”
We’re being told to expect many twists and turns, but ultimately it’s going to be a happy ending for our Gail ❤
