Nicole Scherzinger may not be returning to The X Factor this year.
According to The Mirror, the singer has been stalling signing her new contract but global superstar Mariah Carey is eager to take her place.
Mariah has already been a guest judge on American Idol in the United States.
A source told the paper: 'Mariah really wants to do it. Nicole is not committing at the moment, although she did meet up with Simon Cowell this week.'
Nicole has been a regular on the show since 2010.
