Mahereshala Ali has been confirmed by HBO for Season Three of True Detective.
If you don't recognise him from his Oscar winning performance in Moonlight you might know him from House of Cards or Luke Cage. He announced the news on his Instagram yesterday after it was made public on the Television Critics Association's summer press tour.
HBO like to switch up the cast and crew for every season of True Detective. A new director has yet to be selected for Season Three but according to Bloys the scripts are terrific. Season One saw Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in leading roles followed by Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch for Season Two.
A release date has yet to be announced.
