It's been confirmed the fifth season of Luther will return to BBC One over Christmas. However, a specific air date has yet to be revealed.
Idris Elba will return as DCI John Luther for the new season which will consist of four hour-long episodes.
The first teaser for the new series premiered back in June. The clip shows Luther walking towards the camera out of breath before the words 'This will hurt' flash up in bold.
