The news was seemingly confirmed by one of its stars, Christina Chong, who revealed that the cast have been asked about their availability for filming later this year.

The actress who played DI Nicky Rogerson in series two and six of the BBC show, let slip at a Hollywood Saturn Awards last week.
“So I have been asked about a season, is it seven? Yeah. Potentially Nicola Rogerson will be back for season seven,” the actress said when she was asked about the possibility of the show returning.
Last year Adrian Dunbar, who plays Supt Ted Hastings, said writer Jed Mercurio was working on a new script.
"He is writing... we haven't got a script on the desk yet," the Enniskillen actor confirmed.
It’s been 4 years since the most recent season was released, with the sixth season ending with the unmasking of seemingly bumbling DCI Ian Buckells (Nigel Boyle) as organised crime kingpin H.
Hopefully the rumours are true but it all sounds very promising!
