Twitter is going wild for this news!
Kylie Minogue has been cast as herself in a upcoming Netflix murder mystery which is being produced by Shona Rhimes, the powerhouse behind Grey's Anatomy and Bridgerton.
Based on the 2015 book The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House by author Kate Andersen Brower, the eight-part Netflix series will be a kooky whodunnit set in the US president’s Washington DC residence.
Other stars tied to the show are Orange is the New Black's Uzo Aduba and Marvel actor Randall Park.
We don't know a lot of about the plot so far, but here's what the official synopsis says:
"132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion."
We're hooked already! While very little is known about the role Kylie will play in the murder mystery (besides that she is playing herself) that hasn't stopped her fans on Twitter absolutely lapping up this announcement.
Hard to think of six words in a casting story more welcome than “Kylie Minogue - who will play herself” https://t.co/fzx42j4oPc
