Katherine Heigl has joined the cast of Suits.
The former Grey's Anatomy star will play the role of Samantha Wheelar, who is the newest partner of the Pearson Specter Litt law firm, and will be introduced from the 8th season of the show.
Her character is described as being cunning enough to become the firm's "greatest ally or most powerful enemy".
Heigl is expected to fill the void left by Meghan Markle, who will leave the series after the end of the current season.
Patrick J Adams has confirmed he will also leave the show.
Speaking about the news Katherine said: "Joining Suits was the perfect organic way to not only collaborate with [writer Aaron Korsh, who] I admire deeply, but to also become part of a show and cast that I am an immense fan of.
"I have watched Suits from the very beginning and feel incredibly lucky to be the newest member of the Pearson Specter Litt family."
