The 6 acts competing to represent Ireland in the Eurovision have been revealed.

These acts were picked out of hundreds who submitted to compete this year. The final 6 will be battling it out on a special edition of The Late Late Show airing next month.

Eurovision 2023 is going to be close to home this year, with the competition being held in Liverpool. As runners-up in last year's Eurovision, UK are hosting on behalf of winners Ukraine.

So, who are the 6 acts?

Public Image Limited

Would you believe it, Johnny Rotten has thrown his hat into ring to be Ireland's Eurovision representative this year. The Sex Pistols frontman, who has Irish parents, has submitted the song Hawaii, a love song about his wife Nora who is living with Alzheimer's.

Connolly

Jennifer Connolly, a first year college student, has put forward a song she wrote when she was just 17.  According to Connolly, Midnight Summer Night is about nostalgia and the passing of time.

Leila Jane

Leila Jane is a Dublin-based indie pop singer-songwriter, who was been listed as 'One To Watch in 2023'. Her submission for Eurovision, Wild, is an "empowering song about the strength of a woman's spirit".

Wild Youth

You've probably heard of Wild Youth already - they've already made a name for themselves in the Irish charts! Their entry We Are One, is a pure Eurovision tune.

Adgy

A singer-songwriter from Donegal, Adgy is another Eurovision contender who wrote their track during lockdown. Now based in London, his tune Too Good For Your Love is an "upbeat, high-tempo dance track".

K Muni & ND

This duo from Longford are definitely going places. Their Eurovision submission, Down in the Rain, is a hopeful song inspired by a time in their careers where they felt their music was not getting the credit it deserved. Never give up on your dreams!
