Catherine Corless got a standing ovation from the audience on The Late Late Show on Friday night.
The Galway woman single-handedly identified 796 babies and children who died at the Tuam Mother and Baby home.
'Significant quantities' of remains were discovered in a concrete structure which may have been intended for use as a septic tank.
It was Catherine's tenacity and strength of character which forced the state to look into the deaths in a Commission of Investigation, which confirmed the horrific details.
