Gillian Anderson has reportedly been cast as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown.
The former X-Files and The Fall star is currently in rehearsals for a West End adaptation of All About Eve.
She also has a supporting role in the new Netflix show Sex Education.
According to The Sunday Times, Anderson will take on the role of the controversial former Conservative Prime Minister in series four of the hit Netflix show.
It's understood filming will begin this summer.
It was previously announced that Olivia Colman will play Queen Elizabeth II in the upcoming third season of the show, taking over from Claire Foy.
Helena Bonham Carter will play Princess Margaret, while Tobias Menzies will take on the role of Prince Philip.
The show's creator, Peter Morgan, is writing both seasons three and four, which will be filmed one after the other.
Season three will cover the years 1964 to 1976, and it has been confirmed that viewers will be introduced to a young Princess Diana.
Netflix has yet to announce a release date for both season three and season four of The Crown.
However, the third season is expected to air sometime this year.
