Reports of a Downton Abbey movie have been doing the rounds for a while now, but it has finally been confirmed.
According to CBS News, the movie is set to go into production at some stage in 2018. Michael Edelstein, president at NBCUniversal International Studios, has revealed that he is hoping to reunite 20 cast members from the British TV series for a feature film.
Speaking in Singapore this week, Edelstein said:
"There's a movie in the works. It's been in the works for some time.
We are working on getting the script right, and then we've got to figure out how to get the [cast] together. Because as you know, people go on and do other things. But we're hopeful to make a movie sometime next year."
