It really does feel like the 90s all over the again!
It’s official! A Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot is in the works at Hulu, with Sarah Michelle Gellar returning to her titular role.
The sequel to the popular 90s show will have Oscar nominated director Chloe Zhao at the helm and writers Nora and Zilla Zuckerman (Poker Face, Fringe) on board.

The reboot is being described as the “next chapter in the Buffyverse” where the story will focus on a younger vampire slayer, so Buffy herself won’t be the main character.
For a long time Sarah Michelle Gellar said she had no interest in a Buffy reboot, but in a recent interview, she revealed she was more open to the idea.
“I always used to say no, because it’s in its bubble, and it’s so perfect,” she said during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. “But watching Sex and the City [sequel And Just Like That] and seeing Dexter, and realizing there are ways to do it, definitely does get your mind thinking, ‘Well, maybe.’”
It’ll be interesting to see how it’s done!
