Bluey is heading for the big screen!
The popular children’s TV show is set to be a featured-length film produced by Disney and BBC Studios.
The film is projected for a 2027 release and producers have promised it will carry “the charm and humour” of the much-loved TV series.
The TV show follows the adventures of an energetic blue-heeler dog named Bluey who lives with her mother, father and little sister Bingo.
Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack, who voice Bluey’s mam and dad will reprise their roles for the big screen, and the show’s creator Joe Brumm is set to write and direct.
“I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on The Sign in series rheee, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that,” the writer said of the movie announcement.
“I’ve always thought Bluey deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together,” he added.
