Could we be getting another Baby Reindeer?
Richard Gadd, the man behind Baby Reindeer, has reportedly been offered a huge deal with Netflix.
Undoubtedly one of the biggest and most talked-about shows of the year so far, Baby Reindeer is based on true story of Gadd's own experience with a stalker.
Now a source for The Sun claims that Richard Gadd has been offered close to a £1million by Netflix to exclusively work for them and create more smash hit programmes.
“This is not a done deal, with both the streamer and Richard negotiating the details of a contract which would see him start work on a new show as soon as possible,” the source said.
“The fact that it could end up being worth seven figures reflects just how much Netflix want to keep him ‘in house’ following the incredible response to Baby Reindeer,” the source continued.
“They are hoping they can come to an agreement that will see Richard produce a string of shows for them, which could prove just as successful and thought-provoking.”
Baby Reindeer, released on Netflix in April of this year, immediately set records for the platform across the UK and Ireland.
The show racked up 22 million views in the first month of its release and currently sits in the Top 10 of Netflix’s most popular shows, along with Stranger Things and Wednesday.
Exciting news for Richard Gadd, although we hope he doesn't need more traumatic real-life experiences to write a hit TV show!
