Hey Upper East Siders, we have some big news. A Gossip Girl sequel-style reboot officially in the works.
The teen drama, which aired from 2007 to 2012 and starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley, will return for 10 episodes on streaming service HBO Max.
However, original characters like Serena, Blair and Dan will be replaced by an all-new cast of New York's elite.
There's no official word yet on whether the original cast will feature in some way in the new series.
Showrunner Joashua Safran will write and executive produce the new version. Series creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will also serve as executive producers.
A description of the series reads: "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl.
According to HBO Max, the new version will show "just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years".
You know you love me XOXO - Gossip Girl.
