A beloved family drama is getting the reboot treatment at Netflix.
A remake of Little House At The Prairie has been greenlit by Netflix bosses, with Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys and Vampire Diaries) confirmed as show runner.
The popular TV family drama, which was based on a book series written by Laura Ingalls Wilder, ran from 1974 to 1983.
Laura Ingalls Wilder released eight Little House books in the 1930s and ’40s, while a ninth was published posthumously in 1971.
The books are based on her childhood in the American Midwest in the late 1800s. More than 73 million copies of the books have been sold to date.
“I fell deeply in love with these books when I was five years old,” Rebecca Sonnenshine said when the reboot was announced and she was signed on to be show runner.
“They inspired me to become a writer and a filmmaker, and I am honored and thrilled to be adapting these stories for a new global audience with Netflix.”
