Three people have been arrested after two guns and €500,000 worth of drugs were seized in Dublin.
At around 4.30am yesterday morning Gardaí were carrying out a Covid-19 checkpoint on the Phibsboro Road.
They tried to stop a car but it took off at speed, leading to a chase. The car then crashed into a wall at Essex Quay.
One of the passengers was seen throwing an object into the River Liffey. Following a search by the Garda Water Unit, two guns were found.
In the car, eight kilograms of cocaine, valued at around €500,000, was discovered along with some cannabis herb.
