€245,000 worth of drugs have been seized at Dublin Airport and three people have been arrested.

Customs Officers alerted Gardaí on Sunday that they had detained three passengers who arrived on a flight from mainland Europe on suspicion of drug trafficking.

The two men and one, who are aged in their 20s, had ingested around 280 pellets of cocaine between them.

All three were arrested and taken to Ballymun Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act 1996.

The woman and one of the men have since been charged in relation to the investigation. They are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.

The other man remains in Garda custody.
