Over 1,000 new jobs could soon be on the way for Dublin.
The makers of weight-loss drug Ozempic have applied for permission to build a massive new factory in Clondalkin.
Danish company Novo Nordisk has submitted plans to South Dublin County Council that would see a new manufacturing plant built in Grange Castle business park, totalling almost 150 thousand square metres in size.
If given the green light, 2,000 jobs are likely to be created during the construction phase, with a further 1,100 posts created when the plant gets up and running.
Consultants expect it to be fully operational by 2026.
The firm has been struggling to keep up with demand for the diabetes and weight-loss drug Ozempic after worldwide interest soared in the last year.
