Passengers are being urged to report anti-social behaviour on Dart and Commuter rail in the city using through a new text alert service.
You text the word TRAIN followed by the location, carriage number, and details of the incident to 51444.
It's the same number as the text alert already used on the Luas.
Irish Rail's Jane Cregan says they want to give people peace of mind.
"If somebody does witness or is the victim of an incident of antisocial behaviour it [can be] very distressing for them, so I suppose that's why we've made the decision to put in this service to provide comfort to our customers," she said.
"But I would stress that these incidents are rare."
