A teenager was hospitalised after being attacked in Dublin yesterday.

The assault, that happened at Sundrive Park in Crumlin, is believed to have been racially motivated.

The teenage boy was targeted at around 12.20pm in the afternoon.

He was taken to Crumlin Children’s Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

No arrests have been made and Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.

In a statement Gardaí say they take hate crime seriously "each and every hate crime reported to us is professionally investigated and victims supported during the criminal justice process."

It went on to say "the Garda Diversity and Integration Strategy 2019 – 2021 has a significant focus on enhancing the identification, reporting, investigation and prosecution of hate crimes and An Garda Síochána is taking actions to improve internal recording and encourage more reporting by the public."
