A teenager was assaulted by a group of young people on a Luas yesterday evening.
Gardaí say that the incident happened at around 5.40pm on Parnell Street.
It's believed up to twenty people were involved in the attack.
A number of Garda units attended the scene however the group had dispersed by the time they arrived.
Witnesses on social media described the incident as terrifying and commended the driver of the tram.
Enquiries are ongoing according to Gardaí.
