Travellers who race horses on main roads to make money are being told it is cruel and dangerous.
Gardai are investigating a so-called sulky race, which was held on the N7 near Citywest in Dublin last weekend.
Independent TD Mattie McGrath says the races need to be banned, for the sake of horses and other road users:
He's told 98FM's Dublin Talks "It's farcical in 2020 that this is allowed and it's farcical that the political parties haven't the gumption to deal with it or legislate for it".
