A submachine gun and ammunition have been discovered in a stolen jeep in the Greenhills area of Dublin.
Gardai made the discovery yesterday afternoon, and say the jeep was seized and taken from the area for technical examination.
A black uzi submachine gun with an attached silencer, a quantity of ammunition and a firearm magazine were discovered during this search.
The firearm and ammunition has been sent to the ballistics section to be forensically examined.
Officers say no arrests have been made, and the investigations are ongoing.
