Part of the Stephen's Green shopping centre has been damaged in a fire.

It broke out at the side of the building on King Street South last night. Dublin fire brigade says it had multiple calls reporting the fire, starting at around 10.15pm.

Three fire engines from Tara Street and Dolphins Barn stations attended the scene, along with a turntable ladder. Firefighters in breathing apparatus put out the fire shortly before midnight.

Most of the damage was caused to the exterior of Harry's on the Green while Dunnes Stores was also damaged in the blaze.

The area around the pub has been sealed off with garda tape as officers investigate what happened.

ESB networks also attended the scene.
