In this Premier League era when players bank accounts are bulging with filthy lucre, it is nice to see one man giving a bit back to the cash-strapped travelling supporters.
Huddersfield Town defender Mathias Jørgensen is buying a round for all of the Terriers faithful that make the trip to St Mary's this weekend for the Premier League match against Southampton.
"Hey guys, your support this year's been truly amazing," said Jørgensen as he addressed the fans on his official Twitter page today.
"Therefore I thought, I'd think up something special for those of you travelling to Southampton on Saturday. I hope you like the gift. Zanka Claus out," he finished, referring to his nickname 'Zanka'.
The supporters who travel will be given a token to collect a pint on the way into the match and with Huddersfield's ticket allocation almost 3,000, it is believed that the early Christmas gift will cost the Denmark international in the region of £9,000.
#ZankaClaus is coming to Town!
A drink on me for every @htafcdotcom fan going to Southampton on Saturday! Grab a token on the way in. 🎄🥤ðŸºðŸŽ #MerryXmas #UTT #HTAFC pic.twitter.com/5cZmmYjAVv
