Kylian Mbappe says he's yet to decide if he'll leave PSG next summer, after confirming he sought a transfer away in July.

The French striker's contract is set to expire at the end of the season and he's heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.

"I asked to leave, because from the moment I did not want to extend my contract, I wanted the club to have a transfer fee to find a quality replacement," Mbappe told RMC Sport of his desire to leave in July.

"It is a club that has given me a lot, I have always been happy, the four years I spent here, and I am still happy.

"I announced it early enough; I said, if you don't want me to leave, I'll stay."

Mbappe also spoke to French daily L'Equipe where he left the door open on staying at the Parc des Princes.

"I've been in football long enough now to know that yesterday's truth is not necessarily today's, nor tomorrow's.

"If I was told that Messi was going to play at PSG, I wouldn't have believed it, so you never know what's going to happen."

Mbappe has also revealed that he's cleared the air with Neymar after criticising the Brazilian captain, calling him a "bum" for not passing to him.

"Yes, yes, I said that. Now, these are things that happen all the time in soccer. It's just not something that sticks. That's why, immediately afterwards, seeing how big it had become, I talked to him about it."
