Manchester United fans were in somewhat celebratory mood at Old Trafford yesterday.
A fourth place finish in the Premier League wasn’t something to cheer about when United were managed by Sir Alex Ferguson.
But the turmoil at the club since the Scot’s departure in 2013 means expectations have been lowered a little since then.
And Liverpool’s defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening confirmed Man Utd’s top-four finish this season- and a return to the Champions League next season.
United boss Louis van Gaal gave a speech on the Old Trafford pitch after their draw with Arsenal yesterday.
And he seemed in high spirits outside the stadium after the match too, as he joined in with the fans celebratory chanting:
