Veteran Netherlands midfielder Rafael Van Der Vaart's World Cup dream is over after he injured his calf muscle in his right leg.
The 31-year-old attacking midfielder missed a few training sessions due to a cold, but yesterday suffered the calf injury which has ruled him out of the World Cup.
With 109 caps for Holland, Van Der Vaart would have been Van Haal's most experienced player.
Van Der Vaart has played for Ajax, Hamburg, Real Madrid, and Tottenham and was part of the Dutch squad for the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
