Shamrock Rovers have confirmed the signing of Richie Towell.
The former Dundalk star signed a pre-contract agreement with the SSE Airtricity Premier Division winners in January, and will formally join on July 1. It's reported he's signed a 3-and-a-half year contract at Tallaght Stadium.
Towell made 23 appearances this season for Salford City, as they narrowly missed out on a place in the playoffs.
The 29-year old originally left Dundalk for Brighton in November 2015, after a few trophy-laden seasons under Stephen Kenny at Oriel Park.
Towell failed to make a breakthrough at the AmEx under Chris Hughton, and he spent two seasons on loan at Rotherham United before making the permanent switch to Salford in 2019.

With his two-year contract at an end, the former Republic of Ireland U21 international has decided to return to the League of Ireland and its current leaders.
Towell's next task will be to break into a side brimming with both talent and confidence. They're unbeaten in their last 32 matches and have been buoyed by performances this season from the likes of Danny Mandroiu and Rory Gaffney.
His first game could come at home to former club Dundalk at Tallaght Stadium on July 2.
